Many visitors claim they know Saalbach Hinterglemm, which might well be the case - as long as they’ve visited the Pfefferalm! You see, you’ll only have had half a vacation if you haven’t stopped by this rustic, 280 year-old, cosy Alpine inn - whether you are a skier or hiker, whether you’re looking to enjoy apres-ski fun, or such Pinzgau culinary specialties as "Speckknoedel", "Kasnock’n" or a delicious shank of pork (be sure to order ahead), you’re sure to enjoy your visit!

Saalbach Hinterglemm without the Pfefferalm would be like skiing without snow, or swimming without water!

With very good reason, our inn was crowned "The Best Alpine Inn in Central Europe" a few years ago (from amongst some 2,000 competitors)! Whether you’re here for winter skiing, or summer hiking - this is the place where both young and old love to get together!

On foot:
A gorgeous hiking trail will take you from the center of Hinterglemm, up to the Reiterkogel and the Pfefferalm - walk-time approx. 1 hour.

Or take the Reiterkogel Chair Lift (as of winter 97/98, this will be a cabin lift) to the mid-station, then it’s just a 15-minnute downhill walk .

On skis:
The family slope from the Reiterkogel to the town center runs right past the Pfefferalm!

We also have available deck chairs (free of charge) and a so-called "ski safe" !

"In da Fruah bin i der erste, der was auffifohrt, weil i da net so lang auf´s auffifohr´n wart. Und d´robn in da Hütt´n trink i an Jagatee, weil so a Tee macht den Schnee erst so richtig schee!"

Wolfgang Ambros

A vacation amongst friends, rustic charm - that’s what a visit to the popular Pfefferalm is all about!

"Pfefferalm-Lois" and the Riedlsperger Family look forward to your visit!

We hope to see you soon
and welcome you to
Saalbach Hinterglemm!

Our Hot Tip: Spend New Year’s Eve high above Hinterglemm at the Pfefferalm
